The Welcome Ministry team has devoted a large portion of this past year to visibly expressing our congregation’s commitment to acceptance of all as an expression of Jesus’s extravagant love and welcome. We purchased and installed a permanent cast aluminum plaque depicting our Welcome Covenant for the front of the building; a banner for the front of the sanctuary and signs placed at various locations around the building. We purchased a new canopy for over the Fifth Avenue entrance and a new front canopy panel for the Fourth Avenue entrance to enhance the Bethlehem identity in our historic neighborhood.
The Welcome station in the Fourth Avenue vestibule is consistently staffed by Welcome Team members and volunteers to assist visitors each and every Sunday morning. Support of our Parking Lot Pretzel Ministry not only provides funds for the Welcome Team’s special projects but also tasty treats to first time visitors and a greater recognition of Bethlehem Church as the “House of Bread” in the wider Ann Arbor community.
