Fellowship Ministry seeks to involve and include all members of our church, reaching out to the community as well, whenever possible. We hope to provide opportunities for fellowship, relationship building and companionship and comfort through meals, shared activities and common interests and recreation. We are also willing to serve as a resource for other groups and individuals who are planning activities and programs.
FELLOWSHIP EVENTS
Oktoberfest
A picnic-style dinner of brats, hotdogs German potato salad, Spatzen, sauerkraut, chips desserts, beer and wine (for sale), coffee, water and lemonade. Live music is provided by our very own Stevie D and the Wannabes.
Hanging of the Greens
In late November, we decorate our church building for Christmas. This “Hanging of the Greens” event is a fun time for people of ALL ages. Lots of trees go up, greens are hung, and different decorations grace our building. Usually, the Saturday after New Years the process is reversed. We put away our decorations for another year.
Women’s Advent Celebration
This event is bi-annual and is generally in early December. It is an evening of fellowship, good food and inspiration. You'll enjoy sitting at a beautifully decorated table, a nice selection of appetizers and desserts followed by a short inspirational program.
Advent Workshop
Fellowship teams up with our Education Ministry Team for this fun event, usually the first Sunday in December. The workshop begins with lunch followed by a very nice assortment of Christmas crafts for ALL ages.
All-Church Potlucks
Fellowship sponsors and supports a variety of potlucks throughout the year. Palm Sunday and Veterans Brunches are two examples.
Tiger Outing
On a summer Sunday afternoon we take buses into Detroit to enjoy a Tiger’s Baseball game. This is a long-standing tradition at Bethlehem UCC. The ticket price includes a ticket to the game, bus ride, pizza lunch (eaten on the bus) and pop and water to enjoy to and from the game.
Tuesday Golf
Men and women play golf all year round. They are at the T-Box during the winter and a variety of golf courses once the weather turns nice.
Golf Outing
On a Sunday afternoon in September, a golf scramble is held at an area golf course. The event also includes prizes and dinner. For non-golfers, you are welcome to come just for the dinner.
Hops & Hallelujahs
An evening of sing-along and fellowship at a local pub featuring The Wannabes and a variety of singers from our church.
Movie Night
An evening of pizza and salad followed by a movie. Discussion time follows depending on the movie.
